The one question we often get from authors is; how much will it cost to have my book published?
The truth is, there is no one size fits all cost to publishing your book.
To self publish you could spend from £0- £2000. If you DIY with your proofreading, editing, cover and interior design and formatting, perhaps it will cost you nothing.
However, you can hire expert indie publishers who will professionally guide you and work with you, through your book to give it the best touch.
The cost will be determined by the extent of work to be done on your book, ( volume- word count, size of the finished book, agreed author copy, whether your book has pictures or not, the genre, the finishing of your printed book and any extras involved. On average, you may spend between £300 to £1500 to have your work published into a book.
But the average cost for a new author is at least £600.
First-time writers, however, will require high-quality copy editing and proofreading and as such may cost up to £150 – £2000 for editing and proofreading alone (depending on your word count and how much work is to be done).
